Welcome to the NMOS Website!

Our goal is to increase awareness of native and hybrid orchids through education, conservation and cultivation. We meet the second Sunday of the month at the Traverse Area District Library.

Thanks to the hard work of Cathy and Karen, we now have a new location for our monthly meetings! The First Congregational Church on Center Road at the base of the Peninsula. Our first meeting of there will be Sept. 11th at 2:00pm. You can view a map to it by visiting their website at: fcctc.org Hope to see everyone there!

There are two formats: one that is a single-page flyer that is suitable to hang in store windows or other prominent places; the second is one that has the same flyer but shrunken to fit two on a page and is meant to be cut in half and handed out or hung in places with limited space.

· "Orchids by the Bay" Show

Perhaps you love looking at orchids or have always wanted to display some in your home. The upcoming "Orchids by the Bay" show, hosted by the Northwestern Michigan Orchid Society, will give you the opportunity to do both. Coming soon to the GT County Civic Center on Saturday and Sunday, May 28 and 29, visitors can view the award-winning orchid displays and purchase plants and supplies from vendors. NMOS members will be on hand to provide information and educational demonstrations. Saturday hours are from 12 noon until 5:30 p.m.; Sunday hours are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Don't miss this chance to learn about one of the most intriguing and amazing plants in the world. Admission by donation.
